Our Story

Community Impact

Let’s create change together.

Our philosophy is a bottom-up approach to participatory community engagement and development. We believe real positive change takes place at the local level on the ground and in the community.

Help us create opportunities for these children to reach their full potential. Help us build schools, create libraries, and put books into children’s hands—empowering them with the tools to learn, grow, and dream beyond the limits of poverty and war.

Our Mission

KEDO’s mission is to help young children scarred by the ravages of war. We aim to lift them out of devastating circumstances, empowering them to shape a brighter, more prosperous future for themselves and their community. Stand with us, and be part of this pivotal change.

School Construction

We build schools for these children to call their own. Providing them a adequate and safe space for them to obtain an education and grow.

Health Clinic Construction

We aid in the construction of a clinic and dispensary for the facilitation of health needs in the community and surrounding villages.

Student Scholarship

We provide scholarships for our students to continue their education journey. Developing future leaders and change makers.

Our History

In the Shadow of Civil War

1989 - 2003

In 1989 a brutal civil war engulfed Liberia and thousands of individuals fled to safety. Some sought refuge in the USA, while others found sanctuary in Europe and elsewhere. Although thousands were displaced, many that were left behind suffered though the chaos that ensued. Today those that were fortunate enough to flee safety have come back to rebuild the communities that experienced the collateral effect of internal conflict that ravaged a nation.

Renewal and Revival

The Seeds of Hope Are Born

2009 - 2011

KEDO (Kpalo-Bli Education & Development Organization) was born in 2009. Siblings of the principal families of Kpalo-Bli assessed the needs of war-torn villages in Sinoe County, Juarzon District, Liberia. The seeds of hope were planted soon after.

Momentum and Progress

KEDO Compassion

2014 - Present

Our first project was the construction of a modern elementary school that now serves more than 80 children who once had no classrooms of their own. Today, our focus is on building a community health clinic and dispensary that will provide life-saving care for over 200 families. Join us in bringing education and healthcare to the most remote villages southeastern Liberia, where children and families are among the most vulnerable in the world.
